Primary Supply Teacher (Cardiff, The Vale and Newport)

Teaching Personnel are actively looking to recruit passionate Newly Qualified or Fully Qualified Teachers to work on a supply basis within Primary schools in Cardiff, The Vale, Newport and surroundings. Short term supply teaching is ideal for qualified teachers who are looking for flexibility within their working week and enjoy experiencing different areas, schools, year groups and classes. You will be contacted on a weekly and/or daily basis (at you preference) to check on your availability for the upcoming week and which days you will be available to work. We also organise advanced bookings for schools (for example maternity/paternity cover, short term sickness, course cover, etc.) in which you will know about the booking in advance and will be able to organise your diary ahead.
The supply daily pay rates usually average between £85 and £100 based on the school and of course on your background, and you can even make up to £110 in a full classroom role with the full flexibility of agency work!
You must be a well organised, efficient and reflective practitioner with high expectations of child development, learning and behaviour. Ideal candidates must have a QTS however Newly Qualified Teachers who haven't completed their NQT year are also encouraged to register. Knowledge of the British and/or International curriculum is compulsory.
Applicants must :
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in South Wales and/or have plans to move to South Wales in the near future and/or be willing to travel to South Wales
