A reputable educational institution in Ealing, Greater London, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the classroom teacher and ensuring the smooth operation of educational activities. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary of £80 - £95 per day.

Job Duties:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons and activities
  • Provide support to students with their learning, addressing individual needs and offering guidance
  • Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities
  • Assist in the management of classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Prepare teaching materials and resources as directed by the teacher
  • Offer one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance
  • Assist with the assessment and evaluation of student progress
  • Collaborate effectively with the teacher and other staff members to ensure a cohesive educational experience
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behaviour
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge

Required Qualifications:

  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Education:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of educational principles and practises
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning environment
  • Organisational skills to assist with lesson planning and resource preparation
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in Education or a related field
  • Additional training or certifications in specific areas such as Special Educational Needs (SEN) or First Aid

Working Conditions:

The Teaching Assistant will primarily work within a classroom environment, assisting the teacher and interacting with students. The role may involve occasional extracurricular activities or off-site educational visits. The working hours are full-time, typically following the school timetable, and may require some flexibility. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, contributing to the overall educational experience of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
