Primary SEN Learning Support - Part-time

A Primary School with a provision for children with ASD & Multiple Learning Difficulties, some of whom also have an additional diagnosis of autism, based in Richmond Upon Thames, are seeking an experienced Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant part-time and long-term from September 2018.

About the school:

At Key Stage 2, pupils within the provision follow a curriculum that incorporates individual learning needs and offers a learning environment that is engaging and fun. The curriculum is topic focused and pupils engage in learning through exciting new themes, lessons are linked to the theme and support learning across all subject areas.

The curriculum is implemented through both teacher led and child-initiated learning as appropriate for the needs of individual pupils.

Enrichment days are planned half-termly to enhance learning, through first hand experiences. Days are planned with a focused curriculum area in mind.

Pupils have the opportunity to access a range of facilities to enhance learning opportunities both in school and within the local community including- hydro pool, soft play, horse riding and sailing.

The head of school is looking for a Learning Support Mentor who will:

• Have experience/interest of working with children/young people in some capacity.
• SEN experience including Autism - Desirable.
• Minimum GCSE Grade C in Maths and English.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be positive and enjoy a challenge.
• Have a DBS (we can support with your application).
