Primary/Secondary Teacher full time positions (SEN)

Teaching Personnel have a great opportunity for a qualified teacher who has either SEN or mainstream experience who would be interested in supporting children within an SEN alternative provision in Plymouth.

We encourage people to apply with different subject specialisms; however the school requires candidates to be comfortable teaching across the whole curriculum including Maths and English.

You will be working as part of a great close knit team, supporting the every day lives of SEN students. With patience and support, you will run engaging and fun lessons, which help meet the individual needs of SEN students, which cannot be met in mainstream schools. In your class you will have the support of teaching assistants, who will aid you in helping individual students.

Lessons could require you to run sessions on social issues - such as bullying and support, as well as teaching students about the importance of team work and other key life lessons.

Classes are usually comprised of no more than 8 students, so you will really get the chance to build great relationships with your class.

Apart from being a highly rewarding job, you will get the chance to experience a great new setting of teaching, and work with other passionate people.

Information about the role:

  • Starting after February half term
  • The role is until the end of the academic year with the potential of being made a permanent contract.
  • Would be taking on the full responsibilities of a teacher including planning, preparation and assessing.
  • Teachers looking for supply work could also be needed

The successful Candidates:

  • Passionate and empathetic
  • Caring, engaging and calm
  • Must have experience in teaching in either a mainstream or SEN school.
  • Must have QTS.
  • Must be confident in the classroom and have excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Will have a full clean driving licence with access to a car.

Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £44, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
