Position: Year 6 Primary School Teacher (Maternity Cover)

To start: 21st April 2020

End date: TBC

Interview date: Between 10th February – 3rd April

 

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an experienced Welsh Medium Fully Qualified Teacher for a Year 6 Maternity Cover in a Welsh Medium Primary School in Torfaen.  Ideally, the successful candidate would have previous experience teaching Year 6 or teaching Upper Key Stage 2.

 

In order to be considered, you must:

  • Hold a Qualified Teacher Status
  • Be registered as a Qualified Teacher with the Education Workforce Council
  • Hold an Enhanced CHILD ONLY DBS
  • Communicate effectively through the medium of welsh (oral, reading and writing)

Teaching requirements: 

In fulfilling the requirements of the post the teacher will demonstrate necessary professional characteristics, and in particular:

  • Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues
  • Build team commitment with colleagues.
  • Motivate pupils.
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking.
  • Improve the quality of pupils' learning.
  • Promote exceptional oral and written skills in Welsh and English.
  • Working together effectively as part of an active and enthusiastic team.
  • Work with others to achieve the school's aims and objectives.
  • Work with staff to implement effective systems for assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' progress and analysing data.
  • Central to planning, resource management, monitoring, review and evaluation.
  • To promote and maintain high expectations of behaviour and discipline.
  • Participate in the school's extra-curricular activities.
