Sports Coach and Teaching Assistant role
The Head Teacher of a Burnley Primary School is looking to recruit an individual to work as a part-time sports coach and part-time teaching assistant. It will the be the role of this support assistant to build excellent rapport with the children in Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 and also ensure 100% effort is put into the role to ensure progress is made in both academic and social development. The school is located in the BB12 area of East Lancashire (Burnley) with a good reputation for the support the children are given during their primary school experience. The Head Teacher is very keen to implement this new full-time role, on an ongoing basis from the start of the new academic year. The main aim of this role is to further develop some of the harder to reach children, particularly children with Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs, especially after the recent school closures. The Head teacher is known for their level of approachability and will always ensure new staff are well inducted and supported in role. The Head Teacher has noted that this is a very exciting role which will impact on the children massively, with some of the most difficult children in school being given the best opportunity to progress at the same level as the other children across school. It is important that the applying teaching assistants have experience in working across a primary school setting, preferably with experience across KS1 and LKS2. It is also expected that the applying candidate will have a qualification and/or experience in the delivery of sports programmes with young children. The Head Teacher is looking to shortlist and appoint within the next three weeks so I must stress the importance of applying as soon as possible.
