Level 2 Teaching Assistant needed in Preston Primary Schools PR1 and PR2

The Head Teacher of this 'challenging' yet vibrant Primary school based in Chorley is interested in sourcing two LEvel 2 or above TA's to support their new intake of Reception pupils. From working alongside local nurseries, there are a number of children in the new intake who may require extra support to phase them into Primary life.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record working alongside pupils in Early Years. You must be comfortable liaising with parents ona daily basis. The role involves delivering interventions with small groups of children in KS1, as booster sessions to help raise their age related expectations. You will also be expected to plan small Phonics interventions, so a good understanding of Phonics is crucial. Your main teaching target will be to help the under achieving children make good progression over each term. The position is to work mornings with the opportunity to also become part of the welfare team during the lunch hour if this is something that you would be interested in. The contract is initially temporary with the potential to become permanent.

The school was recently inspected by Ofsted and received 'Good' and had 'Good' the previous Ofsted . The school has a hardworking and dedicated team which the Head Teacher is thoroughly proud of and he says the staff are 'the cogs that make the school run like clockwork'. The Head Teacher has stressed that even though the school can be 'challenging at times with regards to behaviour' it is equally 'rewarding' with 'plenty of aspects to progress within your career'

The salary is based on a 4 hour position held in the mornings, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £8-£10 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.
