Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching personnel are currently recruiting for a Graduate Future Teacher to work in a school in Central Manchester. We are looking for someone to start in September and this position will last for one academic year, with the potential to go onto the school’s teacher training programme.

You will be paid between £385 and £450 per week.

Our client school is looking for a recent graduate who enthusiastic about entering education to compliment their current staff, whilst receiving hands on teaching experience. The main responsibilities of this position will be supporting the teacher in the delivery of lessons and behaviour management of the pupils as well as taking small groups for intervention sessions.

This school is a mixed school, providing education to children between the ages of 11 and 16. The school is in a largely disadvantaged area, the number of children who are eligible for free school meals is over double the national average and the proportion of children who do not speak English as their first language is over four times the national average. The school is part of the United Learning Trust, who are currently working to provide a better education to over 55,000 children up and down the country.

The highlight of this position is that as a recent graduate, you will be given an entire year’s experience as a Teaching Assistant, gaining an important insight into the day-to-day process of a classroom. Following on from this, the right candidate will have the opportunity to be placed into another school as part of the Schools Direct programme where you will then be salaried in line with the teacher pay scale.
