Intervention Teaching Assistant
Are you wanting to gain valuable experience within a large mainstream secondary school?
Have you got any transferable skills that can be used in the assistance of SEN students? If so, please do read below for the job role alongside the current job responsibilities. One of Teaching Personnel’s partner schools, located within the East Side of Hull, the school are currently looking for a recent graduate to support a year 8 student. This role will be focused on a 1:1 support role with aspects on supporting the student both within and outside of lessons.
Job role/responsibilities
- Working alongside students who are disengaged from the mainstream process and the ability to implement strategic plans to re-engage these students.
- Monitoring students who are on ‘report’ – having regular daily check ins with these students.
- Communicating with parents and senior leaders whenever necessary.
- Identifying students who will require support to maintain engagement and ensuring that these pupils are suitably catered for.
- Working under the guidance of the school SENCO, formulating action plans for individual students.
- Managing the individual needs of students with SEN, including those who have difficulty behaving in the expected manner.
- Having regular meetings with teaching staff based on the pastoral requirements of students
- Pay: £10-15 hourly based on prior experience. (£70 - £85 per day)
- Located in East Hull, the school is easily accessible from all areas due to very close public transport links and the M60 motorway close for any car drivers.
The schools SEND code of practice assesses all learners in the areas of: Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Sensory and or Physical Need, with the ability to adapt to certain scenarios being a highly desirable trait. You will initially be employed on a temporary contract through teaching personnel, then be offered a school-based contract based on your performance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
