Primary Intervention Teacher

A vacancy has arisen in an Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ primary school for a qualified teacher with recent experience in upper Key Stage 2.

The school is looking to appoint an additional member of staff to deliver core-subject interventions and booster sessions to small groups of children with the aim to close the gap and raise attainment in preparation for the end of Key Stage 2 SATs assessments.

Start date: 6th September 2021  End date: 22nd July 2022

The position is part-time and the successful candidate will be expected to work 15 hours per week (12:30 – 15:30, Monday – Friday).

The school is an Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ primary school based in Darwen. The school is a smaller than average-sized primary school. The majority of pupils are of White British backgrounds, with an increasing number coming from other backgrounds; most of whom speak Polish. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs is above the national average; as is the proportion of disadvantaged pupils within the school. The school is a faith school; candidates do not need to practice the religion however they must demonstrate acceptance of the school’s ethos.

The ideal candidate must hold Primary QTS, with recent experience of teaching in upper Key Stage 2. The Head Teacher would like to see CVs in the first instance, with the view to interview potential candidates.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
