Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Doncaster, DN4
Contract: Full Time, January – Mid June 2026
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Start Date: January 2026
Are you a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in a vibrant primary school? We are seeking a committed and skilled HLTA to join our friendly and supportive school community in Doncaster (DN4) for a full-time position running from January to mid-June 2026.
About the Role
As our Primary HLTA, you will:
-
Lead whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher
-
Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2 (depending on experience)
-
Provide targeted interventions and small-group support
-
Work closely with teaching staff to raise pupil attainment
-
Support with assessment, planning and classroom preparation
-
Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
-
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
-
Strong classroom management skills
-
Experience leading whole-class teaching in a primary setting
-
A positive, proactive approach and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
-
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
