Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Primary Behaviour Support Assistant to join one of our partner primary schools in Doncaster. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to re-engage positively with learning and school life.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs across the primary age range.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, implementing tailored behaviour strategies in line with individual support plans.

Working collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to promote a consistent and nurturing approach to behaviour management.

Supporting pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence within the classroom and during unstructured times.

Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to maintain a calm and inclusive learning environment.

Contributing to the wider school community by modelling patience, empathy, and professionalism at all times.
About You
The ideal candidate will:

Have prior experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional, or mental health needs (experience in education, youth work, or care settings is advantageous).

Demonstrate a calm, patient, and consistent approach when supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours.

Be confident in implementing positive behaviour interventions and restorative practices.
-
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
