PPA Teacher - Blackburn Primary School

A primary school in the Blackburn area are looking for a PPA teacher to cover the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 class teachers whilst they are planning and preparing their lessons. The role of a PPA Teacher is to cover the class Teachers while they are planning, preparing and completing the relevant assessment for their pupils. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable across all year groups. The position is to start after Easter 2019.

This is a two form entry school, the classes are average sized and it is a mixed catchment area with white British heritage and Asian heritage pupils. Generally, the children who attend school tend to arrive from a variety of social backgrounds and mostly from socially deprived. As a result of this, the children tend to arrive with low language/ communication skills and academic ability. In order to meet the needs of the children, a number of pupils still receive additional support via interventions out of the classroom.

Requirements to be a successful candidate:

  • Experience teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Ability to follow the school's policies such as behaviour and marking policy

Pay would be dependent on experience. The school are open to pay between £100-£160 per day.
