Are you a teaching assistant experienced in complex needs? Or are you from a care giving background experienced in providing personal care for individuals with severe learning difficulties?

Monthly salary: £1200-1500 GBP

Contract: Full time starting ASAP (temporary to permanent contract)

Candidate: Must have SEN experience

 

Teaching Personnel are actively seeking PMLD Teaching Assistants for their client schools in Lichfield. Children attending the schools may have a physical disability and associated medical, learning, or sensory needs. The hours for this role would be 8:45 – 3:45 and duties would include supporting learning in the classroom, supporting personal care needs, feeding and break duties.

The school has an outstanding reputation in the local community and provides an excellent academic environment for young people who have a range of additional needs including Autism, SLD, and PMLD. The school are hoping to employ up to two Care assistant to work as Teaching assistants to start ASAP. School have stated the start date can be flexible for the right applicant.

The ideal Care assistant for this Teaching assistant position will have training such as moving and handling, administering medication, first aid. In order to be considered:

  • Must have a background as a care assistant or similar role.
  • Must be open to supporting children with personal care or moving and handling where required
  • Must have a positive attitude, pro-activity and be able to learn new skills quickly
  • Provide 2 references.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
  • Willing to complete a DBS or have a DBS which is already on the update service
