PMLD Support Assistants Vacancy in Ebbw Vale

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

Are you currently working in residential care?

Are you looking to find more flexibility in your work life?

Are you looking for reasonable working hours without night shifts?

Then great! We are looking for you! Our South Wales Branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently looking for candidates who have experience in supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties to work within Secondary schools with SEN units attached. Your role will include supporting the children and teenagers using our service to develop into independent, happy, young adults. You will assist them with their day to day routine including the transition between home and school. In addition to this you will support the class teacher in the differentiation of an alternative curriculum. This can be a challenging but extremely rewarding opportunity.

You will be able to see the difference you are making to improve the lives of children and young people. The pupils need someone with experience who is dedicated to working with SEN pupils. The lessons are delivered to be sensory stimulating and interactive for the pupils, so experience with this type of lesson is advantageous but not essential.

Full time and Part time roles available - £55+ per day

You do not need experience within the classroom as we are looking for residential support workers in particular who have a background or an interest in supporting additional learning needs. We are always looking for candidates with excellent communication skills, the ability to build relationships with pupils, and a great understanding of the specific needs of children with PMLD.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
