PMLD/SLD Teaching Assistants needed across Ashford

Job description

Teaching Personnel have a high demand for Special Needs Support Assistants to work in Ashford and the surrounding areas. We deal with a range of SEN Schools that require Support Assistants to work as general classroom support or on a 1-2-1 basis with pupils with specific physical and medical needs. You will need to be proactive, enthusiastic and have a determination to succeed.

Prior experience working in SEN and a Learning Support Assistant qualification are desirable but applicants with a Care or Nursing background will also be considered. The needs of the pupils are broad and many children posses Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. Applicants with additional skills such as Makaton, Medicine Administration, PECS, Nasogastric and Gastrostomy Tube Feeding and Moving and Handling are extremely sought after

The ideal candidate will need to have:

  • Current school experience working within a PMLD/SLD setting
  • A background in care is desirable
  • Knowledge of PECs and/or Makaton
  • Flexibility to work across EYFS - KS4
  • Either a DBS on the update system

This DBS must be a child workforce DBS registered onto the update service.
