The School:
The School was built in the 1930s on the site of an earlier secondary school, dating back to 1860. The main building has been sound proofed and there is a large play area. There is centre for pupils with physical disabilities and a centre for pupils with MLD. There are places for up to 10 children in the centre, who have educational health care plans. The centre pupils are fully included in in mainstream classes, where they are supported by a highly dedicated team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants. In addition to this pupils also receive physiotherapy and speech and language therapy.
Facilities:
- Soft Play Room: containing specialist equipment for psychotherapy sessions. Including multisensory features such as coloured light display and a soundboard
- Multisensory Garden: Pupils can ride around on adapted tricycles and walk on standing frames
The Role:
You will be working 1:1 with a pupil with a physically disabled student. You will work both within the centre and in mainstream classes. You will be in charge of safeguarding the student and providing a nurturing educational environment.
Additional Activities:
- The Centre provides Tea parties so that the Teachers and parents can meet each other in informal settings
- Pupils can play a range of Paralympic sports such as Boccia and Curling
Requirements:

- Prior experience with Physical disabilities
