Year 1 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are exclusively retained with a mainstream Primary school in West Derby, L12 who are looking for a positive & motivated Teaching Assistant to join their bubbly Year 1 classroom. This role is set to begin during the new academic year in September. Ideal candidates would have previous experience with RWI Phonics scheme, the Year 1 Phonics Screening Assessment and generally working in KS1, although EYFS/KS2 is acceptable. Candidates should be committed to providing excellent learning opportunities for children, feel confident supporting the class teacher and be passionate about ensuring the welfare and happiness of children.
The role:
- Full time, Monday-Friday
- Hours approximately 8:30am-3:30pm
- KS1 Teaching Assistant
- £11.85 -£13 per hour
- West Derby area
Responsibilities:
- Promoting a positive learning environment, adapting to all childen's individual learning needs
- Supporting the class teacher with assigned tasks (photocopying, creating displays, setting up lessons etc)
- Ensuring good behaviour management
- Providing 1-1 support for individual pupils
- Delivering activities on 1-1 or small group basis such as guided reading or phonics

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
