Year 1 Phonics support Assistant required in Clayton, Manchester, M11

  • Have you got a passion for early reading and Spelling?
  • Are you Level 2 or 2 qualified?
  • Can you adaopt a creative and dynamic approach to teaching phonics?

My client requires an experienced Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant to support in the learning of Phonics in a Year 1. The school are looking for a TA for two terms initially, to help boost the progress in Phonics in the run upto the Phonics screening. The successful candidate must have a creative and practical approach to the teaching of Phonics, and should be confident in teaching from Phase 2-6 of the phonics curriculum. An experience of Jolly Phonics and Read write Inc is desirable, however not essential.

The school is 2 form entry Primary School that is located in central Manchester- Clayton, M11. The Head teacher requires a confident and knowledgeable TA, that can adapt easily to the fast past and lively nature of this energetic school. The candidate is required to work during the mornings to support Phonics and Reading and 3 afternoons per week to support a 'catch up' group of children in Year 2, again with Phonics and Reading.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
