Are you a PE or Sports graduate looking to gain the necessary school based experience before applying for a PGCE or similar teacher training programme?

If so, our client secondary school in Oldham is currently seeking a part time PE teaching assistant to join them in September and provide additional support in the PE department for the full academic year.

Our client secondary is a large, modern secondary school situated in Chadderton, Oldham. The school is well regarded in the local community and has regularly been oversubscribed; with a vast majority of the 1400 students enrol from surrounding areas. During its most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was judged to be Good across all areas with the expectancy of securing Outstanding in their next inspection. Due to the modern facilities throughout, students and staff can benefit from outstanding provisions for teaching and learning, which has paid dividends in recent results and an improvement in the schools progress score.

As a PE teaching assistant, you will be responsible for supporting teaching staff in the delivery of PE lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4 - which will include setting up equipment and ensuring health and safety rules are being followed during lessons. This position is part-time but for those looking to secure full time work there will be the opportunity to fill the timetable working in a support capacity across other subjects as well as covering lessons in the absence of teaching staff.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
