Pastoral Teaching Assistant

Our client secondary school in Oldham is currently seeking a Pastoral Teaching Assistant to support a young student, with an Educational Health Care Plan, on a 1:1 basis. Due to the nature of this position this will be a full time role starting from Easter and continuing until the end of the academic year.

  • Full time Pastoral Teaching Assistant position, starting at Easter (possibility for earlier start)
  • Get paid up to £350 a week dependant on experience
  • Work alongside an experience SENCO who will offer you support
  • CPD courses offered by the school and Teaching Personnel for your professional development

This is a mixed 11-16 secondary school based in Oldham; the school is situated close to the M60 motorway and is easily accessible from a range of public transport links from Manchester city centre. This is a larger than average secondary school with over 1360 student's currently on roll and boasts brand new state of the art facilities, excellent provisions for all students and onsite parking.

The incoming Pastoral Teaching Assistant will:

  • Be confident in building positive relationships with students
  • Have an in-depth understanding of safeguarding policies
  • Report back to the SENCO - providing information on the overall performance of the student
  • Put strategies in place to offer the student support where needed
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills to de-escalate behaviour

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
