Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in an OFSTED graded "Good" SEN school in the North Yorkshire area. The school requires an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work part time to support children in ks3 who have a range of SEN. The role will start in May 2018 until the end of academic year. The successful candidate will be required 3 days a week (working pattern to be confirmed on appointment.)

Servicing a large catchment area, from Stockton on Tees to Harrogate, the school is situated just a short drive from the Catterick area and located within beautiful surroundings. It is host to around 200 pupils and has access to a 5.5 acre farm on site. The school has excellent sporting facilities and is easily accessible from the A1 with on site parking. In it's most recent OFSTED inspection it was graded 'good in all aspects'.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Teaching Assistant/HLTA experience with relevant additional qualifications or other transferable skills such as ex forces or sports coaches
  • Experience supporting children with SEN including MLD and SLD
  • A Patient and nurturing mannerism with excellent behaviour management skills
  • A passion for working within a specialist SEN setting

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
