Part-Time Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a SEN School in Farnworth who are looking for part time staff that are flexible with the hours they can work. The school ideally would like the Teaching Assistant to be able to work 2 or 3 days a week.

As a Teaching Assistant you would be required to support the pupils in the classroom, helping them concentrate on work and making sure that noise levels are kept to a minimum. The teaching assistant role will be working with children that have various conditions that are aged between the years of 2-11.The school is graded Ofsted 'Outstanding' specialist school that caters for pupils with various difficulties and challenging behaviours. A large number of the pupils suffer from Autistic spectrum condition, which requires the school to have work in small class rooms with a number of experienced staff, and have numerous sensory rooms.

Desirable skills and qualifications that might help the Teaching Assistants be considered for the role:

- Previous Experience in a school

- Previous Experience in similar settings

- Autism Awareness

- Team-Teach Training

- Use of PEC's
