Part Time SEN Teacher - March 2019

Job description

Teaching personnel are working with a School in the Nottinghamshire area of NG11, who are currently looking for a part time SEN Teacher to begin in March 2019. The role is to cover maternity leave starting on the 11th March, for a mixed year 7 and 8 class of approximately 10 to 11 students. The Teacher will be needed to be available five mornings a week and Wednesday afternoons, and looking for a long term role.

The school is rated "Good" by Ofsted and has recently had a refurbishment and had state of the art equipment installed including specialist sensory equipment to enhance pupils learning. The school personalise education for each of their 74 pupils and assist children to reach and beat educational targets.

Do you have the following skills/qualifications?

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience working in a school or residential setting with children who have Special Educational Needs (experience working with SLD, complex needs, Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties are areas of particular interest)
  • Experience teaching a range of subjects
  • Calm and patient, nurturing personality
  • Experienced managing challenging behaviour calmly and with confidence.
  • Confident to implement and follow Individual Education Plans and be willing to contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Team Teach training or other equivalent behaviour management training (desirable but NOT essential)
