Part-time Phonics Teacher required in Preston secondary school

  • Are you seeking part-time work from January 2019 (likely to be 2 days a week)?

I am working in partnership with a mainstream secondary school in the Preston, Lancashire area who require a Phonics specialist from January, 2 days a week. This role is to support some targeted KS3 students who are struggling to transition into Year 7 and above. This is a 12 month position, initially.

The school are looking for someone who is highly experienced/ confident delivering Phonics and will be committed to a 12 month position.

Roles/ Responsibilities:

- Letter formation

- Basic Numeracy

- Working on a 1-1 and small group basis

- Supporting students across Year 7-9

- Responsible for leading and planning activities

- You will regularly liaise with the English dept. to plan

- Few EAL students, no particular SEN students

- No marking or additonal work at home involved

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
