Outstanding School Science Teaching Assistant job in Brent

An 'Outstanding' secondary school are currently looking for a Science Teaching Assistant/ Technician to start immediately. The role will be supporting Autism, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs pupils. The role will include supporting the class Teacher with general admin duties, assisting with homework and working on a one to one and small group basis.

The school has great opportunities for progress and provide SEN training to make sure staff are comfortable and capable of supporting SEN pupils at a high standard.

Due to the nature of the role, the school are seeking candidates who are passionate about supporting special needs pupils and to help them work independently after graduating. This will require an understanding of alternative teaching specifically for pupils with complex needs. The candidate will also need to have a Science background.

Job requirements:

  • Science Background Degree
  • Passion to support SEN pupils
  • Child Workforce Only DBS (can apply through us if you do not current have one)

Ideal training or experiences:

  • Experience supporting SEN (ideally secondary but primary is also acceptable)
  • Makaton
  • PECS
  • TEACCH
  • De-escalation training (Team Teach, etc.)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
