Job description

We are currently looking for a number of Outreach or Support workers to support disengaged pupils on a 1:1 basis in an Alternative Education setting based across Bristol and Bath and North East Somerset. The work would be full-time and will involve the use of a car daily to support the students from various central locations at times. The ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour is a must for this role.

Hours of work is 8.30 - 4.30 pm everyday, Monday to Friday term-time only. There is generous pay offer for the right candidate.

Previous experience of working within an Alternative Education provision, or Pupil Referral Unit is highly beneficial. SEN, Youth Offending Team, or PRU experience and training with SEMH is also advantageous.

This role might be ideal for you if:

  • You have previous SEMH experience or Qualifications.
  • You have previously worked with disengaged female pupils.
  • You have experience and understanding of child development and learning
  • You are available full-time and have your own transport and be willing to travel with the young person in short distances between Library/Gyms or different projects through the day.
  • You are confident in managing challenging behaviour.
