Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic and experienced 1:1 Outreach Tutors.


Role Requirements

You will ideally have substantial experience of working with MLD or SEMH pupils. Experience of working directly with high risk and complex pupils in a recognised setting such as Social Work Youth Work or Education.

  • Ability to keep records and plan workload and prioritise tasks

  • Ability to engage in direct work with pupils
  • Effective Communication coupled with Excellent Listening Skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a task focused way as directed by Case Coordinator
  • Ability to work in partnership with families, LA SEN Departments and other relevant agencies
  • Ability to work with diversity and commitment

You will be teaching students on a 1:1 basis however a big part of the role will initially be building a relationship with the student and engaging them in sessions. Our learners come from a range of backgrounds and may have been out of education for some time. It is possible that you may be working with students who have additional needs such as ASC, ADHD or they may be in care. This role requires resilience and patience. Ideally car driver as you will be community based and lone working.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
