Job description

An enthusiastic full time EYFS teaching assistant is required in a friendly and cheerful school nursery, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be working in a school where successes are celebrated competently. The school is looking for hardworking EYFS practitioners that are able to work well in a team and under the direction of the Early Years leader.

The school maintain a happy and respectable working environment between staff, pupils and parents. The nursery is very spacious and provides lots of opportunities for creativity both indoors and outdoors too.

All staff have excellent experience supporting pupils who have been diagnosed with Special Educational Needs and will be on hand to help and support any staff who may require it. You will be working in a supportive environment and be part of a happy and experienced team of educators. A huge amount of support is provided to all staff by the Senior Leadership Team.

This role will require you to support Early Years pupils in a Nursery class and assist the class teacher to deliver phonics sessions. You will also be required to ensure all children are kept safe in the class and all children are happy and enjoying school. The Nursery Class has a permanent teacher who will lead the learning along with three Learning Support Assistants to help raise attainment.

The school is looking for an Early Years teaching assistant with the following attributes:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils in Early Years or Key Stage One
  • Level 3 Qualification in Childcare
  • Creative and engaging practitioner
  • A Teaching Assistant who has a genuine passion for supporting EYFS students
