Teaching Personnel are working with schools based in the Newbury area to appoint for Teaching Assistants to support with the day-to-day development of Primary aged students.

With pay rates between £77-£90 a day Teaching Personnel can offer you work which fits around you, ranging from day to day, short term, and long-term positions.

We are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to join our team both ASAP and for September 2023 

We are keen to hear from applicants who are looking for roles in education.

What your role will include:

  • An understanding of the Teaching Assistant role supporting and overseeing pupils on set tasks and the expected outcomes of individual activities within the allocated timescale
  • To be calm under pressure, adaptable and enthusiastic
  • To be compassionate, have a positive attitude and encouraging.
  • Good listening ability and to be sensitive to pupils’ individual’s needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour management skills.
  • Understanding of SEN
  • Knowledge of a range of learning support needs
  • Supporting with Literacy and Maths and helping to explain how to apply what they have learnt in lesson.
  • Providing supervision during break/lunch times when required
  • Listening to pupils read and read to pupils as a class, group or one-to-one.
  • Guiding and monitoring pupil progress
  • Undertaking a variety of duties that free up a teacher's time, such as preparing the classroom

What do you need to apply to work as a teaching assistant:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced Childcare DBS on the update service (or be willing to get one)
  • Flexible working hours and strong communication skills
  • Be a reliable, passionate, and driven individual.
  • Enthusiasm and initiative to get stuck in and learn!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
