Night Support Worker required for Residential School

Job description

We're looking for Support Workers to work along a close-knit team in Lymington. The school is a 38-52-week residential provision for young people aged 7-19 who have Asperger's Syndrome or have other associated difficulties on the Autistic Spectrum.

As a team at the school, they aim to teach the young people self-management by helping them to utilise their strengths and manage their difficulties successfully.

In this role you will:

  • Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all our young people
  • Attend to practical matters in relation to childcare, ensuring you meet the physical, emotional, behavioural, cultural and educational needs of young people
  • Establish positive relationships with young people and always offer them unconditional and positive regard
  • Help young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct
  • Ensure that each young person's care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their changing needs

We're looking for people who:

  • Have excellent communication skills and are a good team player
  • Have a caring and compassionate nature
  • Have the energy to provide a trusting stimulating and varied lifestyle to the children
  • Wish to make a difference in children's lives
  • Are at least 18 years of age.
  • Can work night shifts and up to 40 hours a week

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
