HLTA – Manchester

Teaching Personnel are currently working with an Ofsted graded Outstanding school in the south of Manchester, the job role will consist of working alongside the school SENCO and assisting students that have additional SEN needs and EHCP plans in place.

The school that the successful applicant will be working in is ideally looking for someone that has experience working within a mainstream secondary school and an understanding of the abilities of KS3/KS4 students.

This school does not believe in a one size fits all approach to SEN, do you will therefore be working with very specific groups to gain a greater understanding and gain a more in-depth style of handling difficult situations  

Key aspects of the role would be:

  • Working with students who often find the learning process more challenging to their peers.
  • Helping class tasks in and around the school site.
  • Producing suitable resources to students which suit the needs of a specific student.
  • Ability of working within difficult situations and capable of working under pressure.
  • Monitoring behaviour of multiple students to ensure that all school policies are being adhered to.
  • Pay scale would be on a weekly basis for the first 20 weeks, then you would be offered an in-school contract for a permanent basis. (Between - £10 - £19 per hour depending on experience)

This school would be looking for an HLTA who is capable of working with students who have specific and dedicated assistance for mentoring. You may be tasked to provide a small group intervention with these identified students, this would be supporting them with relevant materials and applying additional resources for certain subjects.

The successful applicant will need to be capable of working with students of all ages and ability of working with KS3–KS4 students. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
