Music Teaching Assistant

Job description

I am currently working with a Special Needs School who specialise in supporting students with Autism who are looking to recruit a Specialist Music Teaching Assistant as soon as possible.

This role involves working with children aged between 7-18 years old supporting in Music classes.

An Ideal candidate would have;

  • A music qualification
  • A passion for music
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Experience working with young people with Autism
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding policies
  • Skilled in behaviour management
  • An ability to communicate effectively
  • The ability to differentiate tasks based on the individual needs of the child
  • An empathetic nature
  • A valid DBS on the update service (Desirable not essential)
  • CACHE Level 3 (Desirable not essential)
  • HLTA (Desirable not essential)

Any experience supporting young people or adults with special educational needs would be beneficial. Previous experience specifically supporting people with Autistic Spectrum Condition would be desirable.
