Moving and Handling trained Teaching Assistant- part time

Job description

There are multiple part time positions available for Moving and Handling trained Teaching Assistants. These positions are commencing after February half term and are running until the end of the academic year. The role will involve working with pupils who have SEN, so it would be ideal for individuals who have worked in the Care Sector and are looking for an opportunity to change career and work within a School Setting.

The School is a Secondary Special Needs School which currently has 75 pupils enrolled. The Setting caters for pupils with a wide range of needs including: moderate, severe or profound multiple learning difficulties. In its most recent 2016 inspection the School was graded as 'outstanding' by OFSTED. Due to the specific needs of the pupil the Teaching Assistant should have an understanding of how to cater for young people with various needs.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with individuals with SEN in any capacity
  • Experience working within a Care or Residential Sector
  • Experience working within a School environment (desirable)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
