MLD SEN Teaching Assistant in Blackheath

A Primary School in Greenwich is seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in KS2. The post will commence in January, trials to take place just before the December half term.

This is an amazing opportunity for any aspiring Teacher or Educational/ Clinical Psychologist, as the position will give you exposure to SEN in a practical sense.

The potential candidate will support the child on a full-time basis, working both in class and within the learning support unit, providing the necessary interventions.

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Job:

  • SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant
  • Aiding in all learning aspects (Numeracy + Literacy)
  • Supporting a child in Year 5 with Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • January 2019 start - Full Time - Term time only
  • £60 - £70 per day + Additional Benefits

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Person:

  • Graduate with a degree preferably Childhood or Psychology related
  • Dynamic and ambitious individual
  • Good levels in Literacy and Numeracy
  • SEN experience - classroom based will be an advantage
  • Will have a passion for working with children with SEN
  • Calm and forward thinking attitude
  • Ability to use own initiative when problem solving

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - School:

  • Mainstream Primary School in Blackheath
  • Graded 'Good' by Ofsted 2017
  • Specialist Consultant to guide you through the process
  • Located in the Borough of Greenwich
  • Easily accessible location via Underground and brilliant bus routes

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
