MFL Teacher

The Head teacher at an 'Outstanding' Secondary School in Preston is seeking to appoint an MFL Teacher for the summer term. Although the initial position is to start immediately following the Easter Break, the school have evaluated staffing for the new academic year and are looking to appoint someone for a permanent position starting in September 2019.

The school is a successful and oversubscribed Catholic School. The languages department currently specialise in delivering French and German. All KS3 Students study, whilst top sets also study German at KS3. The department is made up of four full time MFL Teachers and a suite of classrooms with a central computer area. You will be expected to teach French and German up to GCSE.

Previous exam results:

  • German: 100% 4-9
  • French: 54% 4- 9

Applications from candidates at varying stages of their career are encouraged and it is likely that there will be opportunity for middle and senior leadership positions in the coming years.

Initially the position is required to fill a shortfall within the MFL team which has been created due to a number of staff absences. The appointed candidate will take up a full time teaching timetable to alleviate the pressure on the department in the run into the GCSE examinations and summer.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
