Russell Group Graduate Future Teachers – Maths Academic Mentor

  • Minimum (2:1) Graduate from a Russell Group University

I am working with a school in Newham that is looking for Maths University Graduates to start in September, and work for one academic year.

The Ideal candidate

• Ambitious and gifted graduate who has achieved a minimum of a 2:1 degree or above in a maths based degree

• Looking for some classroom based experience, before undertaking a teaching qualification.

• Graduate with the previous tuition and/or school based experience who has gained skills to deliver a variety of topics in a manner that will help raise the attainment of varying students.

About the Role

In this Academic Mentoring post you will become an integral part of the Maths department and learn how plan, prepare and deliver lessons. You will also learn behaviour management techniques and how to differentiate your lessons. You will be expected to help correlate your skills, experiences, and formal qualifications and work 1:1 and in small groups to raise ambitions for pupils, and distributing the highest standards of teaching and learning.

The graduate scheme was established in 2012 and has so far helped over twenty teachers including 4 maths teachers become fully qualified.
