Maths teaching assistant/ tutoring position – excellent opportunity for a Maths graduate seeking a career in education/teaching to work as a teaching assistant prior to teacher training!

Do you have a degree in Maths and a good academic background? Have you previously supported children in a TA/Tutor capacity and would you be a good fit for a large Maths department seeking extra support within lessons and during extra curricular clubs?

Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a large mixed high school in Leyland who want to hire a Maths graduate to work as a Maths Intervention Tutor on a full-time basis. If you have a good academic background and previous experience within a classroom setting or similar, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

Working as an intervention tutor will bring many different responsibilities on a daily basis, this could include;

- Working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis delivering Maths support

- Supporting class teachers during lessons and after/before school with resources

- Planning your own activities to help support specific pupils with areas for improvement

Person Specification:

Ideally, you will have experience of working in a similar environment from placements during your studies or after, any tutoring or previous teaching assistant experience would be advantageous. If you have good academic record, a degree from the Maths subject area and the desire to make a career out of teaching.

This is a full time position to start from February half term or just after. The school have identified Maths as an area for improvement and would like to secure the most suited candidate straight away.
