A job as a Teaching Assistant in a Mathematics department will provide vital experience prior to your application for a teacher training programme.
Our client school in Blackpool seek to appoint a graduate with a degree in Mathematics to work closely with their Maths department for the duration of the academic year. An average sized high school in Blackpool, pupils are encouraged in their spiritual and academic development. 72% of pupils are achieving expected progress through KS3 and KS4, and the Head of department is striving to further boost Maths results with the appointment of a graduate with a degree specialising in Mathematics. The school with close links to the M6 and is accessible via public transport links.
A role as a Maths teaching assistant will have requirements and responsibilities throughout, you will be expected to provide general classroom support during lessons as well as leading and monitoring your own small group revision and booster lessons. You will support MLD pupils alongside the national curriculum work schemes set by the teacher.
This role is ideal for candidates who have previous experience of working within a secondary school of 2-3 years. It is a temp to perm role for the ideal candidates.
