Job description

Full time Maths Teaching Assistant, required from September 2018 for a Bury based faith Secondary School.

  • Degree level qualification in Maths.
  • Experience working with young people is essential, additional experience within a classroom capacity is highly desirable.

  • Maths Teaching Assistant Earn up to £1200 per month.

Main Duties and Responsibilities for the Maths Teaching Assistant:

  • Capacity to support pupils with in the Maths department at Key Stage 3-4.
  • Deliver pre-planned Maths lessons, with full support and guidance.
  • Work in collaboration with the class teacher to support identified pupils in order to raise levels of attainment in Maths.
  • Flexibility to work with a range of pupils at all levels of learning.
  • Provide support 1:1, in small intervention groups and or classes when required.
  • Confidently managing behaviour alongside the class teacher.

About the school:

This Bury based faith Secondary school with just under 700 pupils on roll, aged 11-16 it is located in a small town just outside Greater Manchester. It is easily accessible via the M66 and has a range of public transport options available with links throughout Greater Manchester.

Due to the transitioning period in the new academic year there has been a growing need for additional Maths Teaching Assistants to work within this Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary School.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
