Supply SEN Teaching Assistant

Role: Supply SEN Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 1 or 2

Duration: Day to day supply – sick cover – maternity cover – training cover – jury duty cover

Pay: £80 – 95 per day (paid on a weekly basis)

We are currently working with many schools located in the West London area, including Harrow, Hounslow, Ealing and Hillingdon, who are in demand of supply SEN Teaching Assistants who can cover KS1 and KS2 classes. The position if flexible and we explain to candidates that they should expect to get a call at 7am Monday to Friday for supply bookings or calls in advance for short term bookings. Schools are looking for individuals who will positively manage children’s behaviour, providing them an inclusive environment to give them the opportunity to thrive on a personal an academic level.

What would the job role involve?

  • Working one to one with children with SEN - possibly a child with Autism, ADHA etc.
  • Supporting the class teacher with lessons
  • Lead intervention sessions
  • Have a patient and calm approach
  • Create engaging materials that suit different learning styles
  • Explaining tasks to children and keeping them focused
  • Ensuring safety of each child is followed

Essential requirements:

Enhanced DBS Check

Safeguarding Training

Overseas criminal clearance

Qualifications/Experience (desirable):

CACHE level 2 or 3 award

Level 2 or 3 in Childcare

SEN courses e.g., Autism

Care/Support work

Personal SEN experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
