Maths Teacher
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
The Maths department has undergone a number of changes in recent years. A strong team of specialist staff is focusing on teaching and learning in Maths and we are looking forward to improving outcomes over the coming years. We are seeking a strong Mathematics teacher, focused on brilliant teaching and learning with excellent pedagogical and subject knowledge.
Teaching Personnel works in partnership with a relatively large school, and has recently been judged as a ‘Good’ school from OFSTED. Many visitors comment on the warmth and friendliness of the school. It is a school where the students and staff know each other well (helped by a vertical pastoral system in Y8-Y11).
The school has a wide catchment area. Around a third of the students come from the Blackburn area, whilst the rest are local or from the Bolton/Burnley area.
There is a strong team of staff across the school – all staff, not just teachers. They are incredibly supportive of each other, both in a personal and professional sense. Lesson planning is often shared and cross-department sharing of expertise is also common. The team of pastoral and learning support staff is exceptionally strong, with Progress Co-ordinators responsible for the vertical “Sections” of the school from years 8 to 11 and a separate Progress Co-ordinator for Year 7, who also handles transition.

You will be joining the school on the 1st September to cover a maternity leave on a temporary basis, however with the potential change in staffing; there may be an opening for a permanent basis. The role is part time, Monday to Thursday 8:40am – 3:15pm.
