Maths teacher

Job description

Due to a member of the Maths department going on maternity leave earlier than expected, this Roman Catholic 11-18 School wish to appoint a temporary Maths teacher ASAP to cover until the end of the academic year.

  • Leading a timetable consisting mainly of KS3 Maths with some GCSE classes
  • Roman Catholic High School located in Astley
  • Immediate start - Maternity cover until the end of the academic year
  • Pay in line with MPS on a supply rate

The incoming Maths teacher will be required to take on a timetable consisting of both KS3 and GCSE classes and be fully committed to all departmental responsibilities including; Planning and marking, following schemes of work, attending regular training and development opportunities and half termly parents evenings.

Our client school is a modern secondary located on the border of Wigan and Leigh, with excellent motor way and public transport links making it easily commutable from the surrounding areas; St Helens, Warrington, Salford and Bolton . The school recently relocated to a purpose built site with teaching and learning at the forefront of the design, and the 1200 students can benefit from excellent provisions for learning. The school aims to ensure students are keen to learn and make outstanding progress in their lessons, and the incoming Maths teacher will be able to demonstrate creativity in their subject and encouraging pupil participation.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
