Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Psychology Graduate to join one of our client Secondary Schools in Tameside as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Have you recently graduated in Psychology? Are you interested in gaining experience whilst supporting young people with special needs in their educational development?
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for working alongside pupils with special needs who require additional support in their learning in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. By working in small groups, you will be able to best target the learning of the pupils.
This position will be full-time and is due to start immediately. The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week, dependent on the requirements from the school.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Working with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to target their learning requirements. Many of the pupils that you will be working with will have Autism, ADHD as well as other learning difficulties.
- You may be required to support pupils with their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- You should work with the teaching staff closely, being able to give feedback about the pupils’ progress and performance.
- You will have safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring that any situation is dealt with as well as possible.
- There will be elements of behaviour management within this position, minimising disruptive behaviours.
Throughout your employment, you will be supported by Teaching Personnel. There will be opportunities to progress onto permanent positions, for the right candidates.
To be successful, you must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as provide at least two-employment based references covering the previous two years of work history.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
