Job description

Part time (0.6) Maths teacher required for a Salford Secondary school from February 2019 fixed term till the end of the academic year.

Due to a member of staff set to take adoption leave in the New Year this Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school is seeking to employ a dynamic Maths teacher on a temporary supply basis.   • Must hold QTS alongside relevant Degree level qualification within Mathematics.
  • Pay in line with (0.6) MPS/UPS £14, 232 - £23, 643.

This over subscribed Secondary school, with just over 800 pupils on roll aged 11-16 has continued to develop under the dedicated guidance of its Senior Leadership Team. Each member of staff has contributed towards the success of not only the school but all their pupils, across the subject board, age ranges and abilities.

The responsibilities for the successful Maths teacher will include;

  • To ensure all individual lessons are planned and prepared adequately including the appropriate use of relevant resources.
  • Adopt a forward thinking approach and plan lessons in line with schemes of work well in advance, in accordance with the national curriculum and departmental/school policies
  • Regularly set and mark appropriate work for pupils in order to assess their progression and understanding.

Located at the heart of Salford City Centre, it is easily accessible via the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Manchester. There are also various public transport options available with links throughout Greater Manchester.
