Maths teaching/intervention position overview:

Our client secondary school requires a Mathematics teacher to join them in February 2019 for a temporary period until the Easter break in April. This 'good' school is part of a local trust of secondary schools and is a school of choice for many of the students in the local area. The successful Mathematics teacher will be joining a large Mathematics department with 12 specific Maths teachers.

The appointed Mathematics teacher will be teaching a part-time timetable to primarily KS3 students and getting involved with GCSE intervention. At the time of year between February and April, year 10s and 11s will be focussing on their GCSEs and the successful Mathematician will be supporting with revision, intervention and working with groups of students who are looking to stretch themselves to achieve grades above and beyond.

Key aspects of this Mathematics teaching position:

  • Pay ranging between £130 - £150 per day depending on experience and payscale
  • Full time Mathematics teacher required: February 2019 - April 2019
  • Able to teach KS3 and KS4 Mathematics; supporting with a teaching timetable and providing intervention to year 10s and 11s.
  • Opportunity to continue into the summer term from April - July 2019 continuing support with students between year 7 - 11

The school are therefore looking for a passionate teacher of Mathematics who has a real focus on providing the best teaching possible, fully immersing themselves in school life. The school is on a journey to outstanding, having a 3 year plan in place and is currently on track to be an outstanding school in line with projections. Mathematics is an area where they were praised in their latest Ofsted inspection much to the admiration of the highly supportive Head of Mathematics. As a large Maths team, collaboration has been a particular success of the department ensuring that teaching is of the highest standard.

The school being situated in South Manchester close to the surrounding areas of Levenshulme, Longsight, Burnage, Reddish and Didsbury makes it very easy to access for all Mathematics teachers that drive. For those on public transport, the school has close links with regular buses servicing the school well and the local train station being a very short walk away.
