Maths and English Intervention Teacher - Part Time Role

Part time working hours - 15 hours per week

Experience in Year 5 and 6 is a necessity

A school in the heart of Blackburn, not far from the hospital, have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source and shortlist a couple of teachers to be appointed by the school on a long term supply basis. The role will be to support a number of children who are working behind expected levels for their age in Maths and English. The children have been targeted by the SENCO and Head teacher in school as high priority for intervention work. With this, your role will be to work closely with the Year 5 and 6 class teachers to ensure the work is well planned and differentiated to meet individual needs. The work will be planned according to the children's Education Plans and will be challenging enough to ensure they are stimulated in the classroom. The school is currently graded GOOD by Ofsted and also holds a strong Christian ethos which will need to be upheld in this role. The behaviour of the children in school is also good, however there maybe times when the children are disruptive and so you must be prepared to use the school's behaviour policy and a range of individual behaviour techniques.

The role will commence from the first week after October half term. The working hours are 9-12 each day, every day of the working week. The Head teacher in school has noted the role will be to continue until the Easter holidays/the start of the SATs. You must hold Qualified Teacher Status and have experience in the class room, particularly in Year 5 and 6. You must hold a good level of written and spoken English and be able to work at a higher level in Numeracy. If you are interested then please contact me in the office with an up to date CV.
