An SEN school based in Blackheath is currently seeking a lunch cover assistant to join their team. If you are a motivated, enthusiastic individual and flexible with your lunch time then this could be the right position for you.

Under the supervision and guidance of senior staff you will provide the highest level of care for children attending the school.

The working hours are from 11:30am to 1:30pm. However, there are instances where the school may ask that you stay until the end of the day (3:30pm) to help in one of the classes.

We will consider candidates who do not hold these qualifications if they can demonstrate relevant work experience and / or a desire to begin their career within the education sector.

  • This is part time work, flexible and changeable as the school requirements change - you could be working anywhere between 2 and 5 days per week, Monday to Friday
  • You will be required to assist a particular class of students over their lunch time period
  • The hours you will be required to work are 11:30am - 13:30pm
  • At times, the school may need you to work in the afternoon also as a classroom assistant
  • Experience of working with children who have special needs is desirable
  • Willingness to provide personal care and assist with feeding/toileting is a plus
  • You will need to have a DBS on the update service - we can help you to apply for one if you don't already have one
  • We will collect references from your previous employers/colleagues

In this role you will ensure:

  • The individual needs of children are identified and met during staff lunch period.
  • Company policies, procedures and operational practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Positive working relationships with children and staff.
  • You are comfortable to work with a variety of age ranges.
