LSA/SEN Teaching Assistant needed in Camden

Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant with a passion to supporting SEN pupils to become more independent. This will be in a school based setting so administration and numerical as well as literacy skills will be required. The position is starting from April until the end of the academic year and could extend to a permanent position depending on performance.

The school caters for primary and secondary aged pupils with Autism across the spectrum, Challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, physical disabilities and profound and multiple learning difficulties. There is two to three Teaching Assistants per class supporting a class Teacher. The classes usually consist of 8 pupils per class with a multiple SEN.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Be available for work 3 days a week minimum (preferably 5)
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils or Adults
  • Experience with SEN resources (Visual Aids, Makaton, De-escalation training)
  • 1:1 support and small
  • Good Numeracy and Literacy skills
  • Degree
  • Child Workforce only DBS on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
