KS2 - Teaching Assistant SEN support

Level 2 Teaching Assistant required

A school situated in Allerton, the school strives to provide a safe, secure and happy environment. Currently, the school are in need of a teaching assistant who can work from January 2019 to work in KS2. The role will be to work on a part-time time basis, five mornings a week, 8.30am-12.15.

The school is currently graded good by Ofsted and the leadership team was praised for maintaining a good quality of teaching. The behaviour is good in school, the Head teacher and SLT consistently monitor children on the corridor and in class. You will be expected to use the behaviour policy effectively and inform your line manager if there are any issues or concerns.

The role will entail providing 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs in KS2. Experience with supporting children with Special Educational Needs is essential. The children who attend school are from a mixed catchment. There are children who arrive from socially deprived backgrounds as well as children from affluent backgrounds. Over half the pupils are eligible for Pupil Premium funding. You will need to be passionate and hard working to be successful in this position.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Level 2 Teaching assistant qualification as a minimum
  • KS2 experience in a classroom
  • Experience working alongside children with Autism
  • Experience working 1:1 with a child with challenging behaviour

The position is expected to last 9-12 months on a temporary basis with a view to become permanent in September 2019.
